International Baccalaureate Organization


Our main accord is with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for which the school has been granted authorisation to deliver PYP and Diploma programmes. This programme confers successful candidates to the IB Diploma upon their finally year of study.

Universities

Gimnasio del Norte is currently associated with major Colombian universities. Graduates from an International Baccalaureate World School, like Gimnasio del Norte, will almost guarantee accreditation of subjects as well as acceptance at high-profile universities like Los Andes, Sabana and, Externado de Colombia, among others.

As part of some agreements we have with local universities, the school provides internship posts for undergraduates of Social Communications and Education, to promote a higher exchange of experiences. We currently cater to those whishing to carry out their practicses from Central and St. Buenaventura universities.

A.A.C.B.I. (Asociación Andina de Colegios de Bachillerato Internacional)

The Andean Association of International Baccalaureate Schools, AACBI is a private organisation of IB schools in the Andean, Central American and Caribbean regions whose main purpose is to support and further disseminate IB principles and practices.

Gimnasio del Norte has been part of the Association since 1997 and has taken part and been the official venue of workshops, meetings and other activities complementary to officially programmed ones by the IBO regarding educational matters for senior school officials, teaching staff and/or students.
